Holmes Harbor Golf and Beach Club is located just northwest of Seattle and southwest of the San Juan Islands in Freeland on Whidbey Island. Overlooking an inlet along the majestic Puget Sound’s panoramic Saratoga Passage, Whidbey Island sits in the heart of Puget Sound nestled between the Cascade Mountains to the east and the Olympics to the west.

Sikma Enterprises Inc. designed the 60-acre course in 1994. In 2003, Puget Sound area developer Mark Schuster purchased the golf course from former Seattle Supersonics basketball standout Jack Sikma. Recent upgrades include renovations to the golf course, waterfront restaurant and bar, and pro shop.

Rated one of the top executive golf courses in Washington State, the 18-hole course is playable in just over three hours. The par-64 course measures 4,279 yards, providing panoramic vistas throughout the course. The course rating for men from the blue tees is 62.1 and slope is 110. For ladies, it is 61.4 and slope is 105.

With a defined cut of rough bordering the fairways and undulating greens, the signature hole is #8, a 160-yard, par-3, with a 100-foot drop in elevation from tee to green. The locals say this Holmes Harbor is the prettiest course around, because it has scenic views of both the Olympic and Cascade Mountain Ranges, along with a beautiful view of Holmes Harbor. The 18th hole, the lone par-5 at 463 yards, concludes the round with a spectacular view of the harbor and the Cascades.

Golfers will enjoy a fine meal or beverage at the Beachfire Grill, located in the clubhouse. With comfortable ambiance, a “sophisticated casual” menu, and sweeping views of the harbor, diners will delight in a fabulous dining experience. Waterfront dining is also available on our spacious deck overlooking Holmes Harbor.
